need help...
new member here..just got a 2001 CLK 430..bought it from my dad..problem: a/c won't work..everytime i start the car the EC light is on and i cant turn it off..EC i think is the button you push so that the compressor will not work w/c in turn saves gas..it will go off when i leave the key position on 2 and press the EC button..but still the a/c wont work while its off and driving..are the 2 blower fans up by the front end under the front grill related to the a/c? the reason why im asking is shouldnt those 2 turn on when you have the a/c on? because my mom who has an slk has a blower fan similar to that and it turns on when the a/c is on and off when the a/c's off..anyway,even with the a/c on those 2 blower fans won't work..i hope this is just an electrical prob w/c should still be under warranty..any help is appreciated..btw checked the fuses,they're all fine

If you can't turn off the EC button it could be low on refrigerant; the system has protections to keep it from coming on under certain conditions. But you're right, when the a/c compressor kicks on the fans come on to pull air through the condenser. But that's not going to happen as long as the e/c light is on.
I'd get it in to the dealer and let them figure it out; that's what the warranty's all about anyway.

hey gregs..thanks for the reply..i have it scheduled this wed..do you think warranty also covers interior problems? 
i.e. cup holder goes up too fast and driver's a/c vent slide is not functioning properly(2 lower vents are not attached)car is a certified pre owned when my dad bought it last year..22,000 mi
