95 SL500 Top won't close all the way. Please Help.
The problem started last night. She showed up down at the boat and informed me that her drivers side window would not go up. Well we stayed on the water last night and after getting home this morning she put it in park and hit the red button. it almost completed its cycle, but tstopped with the top about 8 inches from the lock in holes. She looked in the manual and used the tool to get it the rest of the way closed. But the left rear did not lock down in place.
I just got to the office and have not messed with it much. What can I check for? Do you feel the window not fully working last night and the top not closing this morning are related?
I would appreciate any help I can get on this one and would be happy to return the favor with any knowledge on how to set up a C5 or C6 for racing.

Check the owner's manual; MBZ auto windows (and sunroofs) occasionally need to be reset and there is a specific procedure for it. Given that I'll bet there is a procedure for resetting the top as well. Usually that only happens after a power failure (like disconnecting the battery) but I've heard it can happen all on it's own. Goofy, but hey, it's those bells 'n whistles blues.

Hope it's simple!

I've read through many posts (and learn't a lot
), but can't find someone with a similar issue. I've also printed off the SL manual, but can't see how to synchronise the windows - but may be this isn't the solution anyway??Someone helped gently pull the window up the last 2 inches (whilst i pressed the up button), but i don't want to keep doing that in case i break it!
Can anyone help?
Kind regards, Alex
