Schedule A Service Problem
I bought my new 2005 SL55 not even 4 months ago. It has about 1500 miles on it now. The schedule A service light came on and I brought it in thinking it was for the 1000 mile checkup. Now I'm told there is a $200 charge for the service.I was trying to research it and thought the schedule A is due at 12000 miles or a year? I don't think it's fair that I have to be servicing the car this soon when it isn't due.

There is no charge for the post delivery service. The indicator will not show this service, at least on mine it did not. Perhaps your problem is that the service indicator was not properly initialized when installed or during the PDI.

When was your car built? Some people have had service indicators go on with little mileage and found that their car sat on a lot for a long time before they bought it. It's possible an '05 car was ready to be sold in May of '04 isn't it? I'm guessing.

My car was built in August of 2004. The dealer says the service has to be performed from when the car was built which I think is ridiculous. I called MB customer care and they are hopefully going to handle it.

Service A at 9 months, 6,000 miles?
I just started getting "Service A due in 14 days" message on my '08 E350 which is 9 months old and has less than 6,000 miles on it.
Anyone have a similar experience to this since or update since the previous post in 2005.
Plan to call MB dealer on Monday so any additional info will help.

Regardless of mileage your FSS will call for a service every 10-12 months or 10-13K mi. A service consists of a lot more than an oil change.

need help
i have a 2008 ml320. how can i reset the service reminder. i already try pressing the reset button but i didnt work. i dont want to pay $200.00 for checking the fluids and doors hinges . i can do that. the panel indicate ; service A due.

Took mine in for the service A, bought it new 12/31/08 and it now has 1500 miles on it. The dealer just did the free 3K check and reset the service reminder for 12/09. Said I did not need a oil change and that they should of reset the reminder when I bought the car the end of December. Saved me $230 and I am doing what MB says to do for my car. The dealer said that it made no difference that the oil had been in the car for over a year that it is synthetic oil and it is just fine until next december.
