If you are referring to the "W S" switch for the car to start in first gear use the S position and to start in 2nd gear the W position. This is to improve traction is slippery conditions by reducing torque to minimize slipping by starting in 2nd. Consider W as"winter" and S as in "Summer". Use S in all normal driving and W in ice, snow or other slippery conditions

I do have these installed in my cars.
What do you need to know?
The Bergwerks units have different options.
Not all of them have the switch on the shift console.
Some have a sport mode with door locking capabilities.
