W203 Trunk lid issue
Hi I’m new to this forum.
I have a 2002 C240 that just came out of warranty. Today when I went outside to get something out of the trunk, the trunk would not open. I heard the pop sound but it wouldn’t extend open. I had to pull it open and then the trunk lid stayed open. I closed it and attempted to open it again, but it would not. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? If so, what parts do I need to replace?
I posted this question in the W203 forum, but no one helped. I didn't add anything like a spoiler, it just stopped working.

When you mean springs, is that the black bracket or something else?
