Engine LED lit on

That was the third time this happent. The very first was a bit before the first B service with 43000 km on the clock. After the service everything was ok for the next two weeks, till today. The meckanic told me something about wrong values on the O2 sensor, but when he looks on the diagnostic tool he discover a knocking problem on the 4rth cylinder. At the end the engine has a broken valve seat due to wrong valve quider. The car dealer order a complete cylinder head and a set of new gasket and they will fix the problem without any payment from me. The question is that . It's normal to change the half engine after only 45000 km. And we are talking for Merc car.

I wouldn't exactly call it 'normal'...but the reason warranties exist is because things sometimes fail before they should.

Eventually after two working days the dealer change the cylinder head with a new one. he change also all the peripherals of the head, bolds included with new, just deliverd by the factory with courrier. I'm really impresed with the service provide to me (they hire a car for me for five days ) and at the end I pay nothing.
Now. Exept the bad fealing I have about the damage I relise that when the engine runs is not so smooth like it was before.
Did anybody hear that the recent engines are diferent than the first production engines. My mechanic told me that this head is the evolution of the first one but i need to confirm. Any info is welcome.
