Replace transmission from a/t to manual
now how do i go about it? how much will that cost? will it be a lot of work or are there kits in it?
thanks,
V
p.s. sorry for the hassle. see, i'm in the philippines where we have no dealers in our area...
Remove AT, bellhousing, torque converter, drive shaft, rear differential gears, brake pedal, xmission module, ecu, and replace with same parts from a manual transmission. Then add clutch pedal assembly/hydraulic reservoir/lines and clutch assembly.
> how much will that cost?
More than the car is worth unless you do all the work yourself and buy the parts used. Then it still may be more than the car is worth.
>will it be a lot of work
Yes.
>are there kits in it?
Not that I know of. My advice is to buy a car that has a manual transmission and sell the car with the AT. Unless you are mechanically inclined and have access to a junker car with a manual for parts and guidance and a lot of time on your hands.
