240D clutch issues

Hey all, I'm having trouble suddenly with my 240D. When I push the clutch to the floor there is nothing there and I can't get the car into gear. Actually, this didn't surprise me since the clutch was acting funny two days prior. Normally when it works the way it should the friction point is some where in the middle (from the distance it travels). The other day, however, it was erratic moving from the middle all the way to the floor board. It's also starting to become a bit cold around here the past couple of days so maybe that could be a culprit.
Anyways, hopefully this will not be an expensive fix; any advice or answers would be nice too.
