Codes - Interpretation 0300, 0305 and 00301

2004 s600

Codes - Interpretation 0300, 0305 and 00301

2000 e320. The check engine light came on and it immediately loss significant power. Idle very rough. Shut it down for a while and it runs fine. Then it does it again. I bought a code reader off ebay and got 0300, 0301 and 0305 which says that the number 5 and 2 are miss firing. Does this sound like a coil? 80K miles.

Thoughts?

more than likely its the supressor ends(plug wires) thats causing your problems.

Maybe but why would two cylinders start misfiring at the same time? It wasn't running rough beforehand to indicate that one cylinder was misfiring and then when the other started misfiring I noticed it.

There is a separate coil for each sparkplug.

So it's not the coil I guess - it's too wierd for it to go bad. My gut tells me it's an emission issue, like an oxygen sensor or something, but it should show up on the codes

If you search the net you'll find ways to test the various components that may be the culprit (MAF, 02 sensors etc.). Plugs you can just look at, just make sure they're the recommended variety.
