S320 Climate Control Issues

I have a 1996 S320. The control center all seems to work except the fan motor only comes on one speed and the EC mode won't shut off. I'm guessing the blower fan regulator is bad since the fan will shut off and come on at one speed. What about the EC light. Is there a relay between the AC Compressor? How do I trouble shoot this?

Here is my follow up to my problem. I couldn't give up. I found that by turning the ignition on but not starting the car allowed me to switch the light off. In doing so, I checked the refrigerant level in the AC system and it was almost non-existent. I've recharged the system to almost full. I couldn't fill it up all of the way due to running out of refrigerant. The light still comes on, so I checked on www.alldatadiy.com. According to them, it’s the moisture sensor in the AC system causing the problem. When I return from my trip, I will see if fully recharging the system corrects this issue. If not, I guess I’m buying a new moisture sensor for my car.
