Changing battery and a strange clear tubing
I have a 2001 CLK. The battery died because I have not been driving it recently.

I am trying to change the battery, and I noticed a clear tubing connected to the battery. The tubing seems to drain some kind of fluid from the battery. Does anyone know what this tubing is for? Does this mean that I need to buy a special battery that uses this drainage tubing?

Do I just pull the tube out and connect to the new battery?

That clear tubing is to vent the battery gases out. Just disconnect, replace battery, then re-connect w/mercedes battery.
