Cool Cold Weather Oil Leak

99 SL500 running great when I covered her for the winter. First day below freezing and it developed an oil leak. About two or three quarts leaked out. I purchased the car in Florida with 52K miles and this is the first winter she has seen. Have yet to get under her. Any thoughts?

2-3 quarts when parked is a massive oil leak. Perhaps a hose broke or a connector failed. Don't think the warm to cold enviornment has anything to do with it though.

Update as of 3/1/06

After sitting down with the repair tech the leak was not coming from the transmission seal. It was a wiring seal boot that exists on this transmission.
