COMAND LCD DISPLAY & PINK DOT...
Hello,
I have a 2004 CLK500 with 28000 miles.
I looked at the LCD screen on the Comand unit in the car the other day when I was changing a radio station and noticed in the "green" area of the screen there was a VERY small pink colored dot, as if someone put a piece of glitter on the screen, but its not on the ouside.
Could my screen be bad?
Is this covered under the 4 /50k mile warrenty?
Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a fix other then having the screen replaced?

in an ideal world that would be the case, but be prepared to argue in order to get the replacement. it sounds like the comand display has a "stuck" pixel. In the computer world. LCDs are considered normal if there are a few stuck pixels. the typical standard is up to 5 stuck pixels in the center of the computer LCD (within ~2 inches of each other) or 10+ throughout the rest of the screen. it's my fervent hope that MB doesn't employ this standard, but don't be surprised if the service manager tells you something to that effect
