How reliable are used SL's with over 100k miles?

How reliable are used SL's with over 100k miles?
It depends on a lot of factors, of course, but I'd appreciate people's experiences with buying used Benz's with over 100k miles.
I'm going to be in the market for a secondary backup car. Something sporty that my wife and I can putz around town in, for a change of pace (we have 2 new Benz's and 3 other cars -- only one of them is sporty), and won't do but but maybe 150 - 200 miles per month on this backup car.
I thought about a Porsche, but based on the Internet boards, you pretty much need a fix-it fetish with old Porsches. So, I'm thinking about old SLs, made '85 - '91.
Will I expect a lot of regular repairs? Is it costly? Thanks.

The pre-1990 body style SL is the 107 chassis. It's a good car, but not very sporty. Even the newer ones look decades old. I'd go with a 1990 or newer 129 chassis SL. Go for the 5.0 liter V8 instead of the 3.0 inline six. The 300SL didn't get good until 1993.

Thanks mbtech208. I'll check out those SL's. Both sportiness and reliability are my criteria here, with a lot of emphasis on the latter actually.
