Please Help! Check Engine + rough idle problem

My mom's 1996 E320 with 125000 miles is starting to have more and more problems.
At around 100000 miles, Check engine light came on and to make a LONG story short, we haven't been able to fix the problem still. We've gone to a few shops + dealer and it still won't go off!!

Recently we got a diagonistics done and the error codes are
P0411 EVAP system incorrect purge flow
P0400 EGR flow malfunction

Now the car is having a rough idle problem + RPM jumping at freeway.
Not sure if this is a sign to sell the car, but I hope this isn't some serious problem.
Now I did search and P0400 may be fixed by replacing Air Mass Meter?

Thank you so much!

You'll lose more on depreciation on a new(er) car than you'll pay a dealer to fix this problem. Just bite the bullet and take car to someone who knows what they're doing.

Oh, of course we took it to dealer. But after $1000, it still comes on. Everytime I bring it back, it comes back on after a day or two. I think they are just resetting something. I want some permanant fix, therefore, I came here to seek advice from knowledgable MB owners/enthusiasts!

Not really, sounds more like your EGR passages are clogged, hard to diagnosis from a forum though............
