Check Engine light not coming on at startup

2002 C32. I just noticed that the check engine light never comes on when I start my car. All the other lights appear functional, so I doubt it's a fuse. Do these bulbs burn out this soon? I guess I'll try to see what's going on back there, but I'm not looking forward to pulling the dash off.

Yeah the bulbs burn out. The cluster comes out in 2 seconds with the right tools. No need to remove the dash

Thanks for the tip - two straight pieces of metal coat hanger did the trick. Someone removed the Check Engine LED. See my other post on this forum.
