AC not cold at all

87 260E
AC not cold at all
Been a while since I posted. I have an 87 260E. AC has not blown cold since I bought the car 1 year ago. I have gone through the various dash and vacuum controls and all are OK. Compressor is noisy but appears to be cycling OK. Pipe leading into firewall from AC system is not cold. Any thoughts on what to check first?

Also, the gas contains the lubricant for the compressor - and the lubricant tends to go when the gas leaks/finishes. So, I wouldnt run the compressor until the gas is checked as you really don't want a knackered compressor ..

You need to know what pressures you have on the high and low side with the compressor on and off.If you dont have manifold gage set then go to an a/c shop and have them check it see if the system is contaminated or see if the compressor is still doing it's job .
Quick check for you to do for now is turn the a/c on and see if the a/c lines are ; the larger diameter should be cold and the other one should be warm or hot.
