W210 New MAF - How to adapt/adjust???
Got a brand new MAF off eBay.
The engine started running much worse than with the old one.
Thought the MAF was bad and returned it (Great eBayer!).
Got another one at the stealership (x2.5 in price!?!) and oops, the same thing. It sounds like the engine chalks.
I read in this forum and others about the need to adjust or adapt the new MAF.
Anyone knows how to DIY?

The car has 88K miles.
The old MAF works fine (~80%).
The new one comletely messes everything:
- Late response to acceleration (start from stop or whie driving)
- Chalking
- Engine chalks and turns off

I'll assume this is a ME-SFI car. The ME control unit loses memory when the battery losses power, so I would disconnect the battery for a minute or so, then re-connect and let the car run (idle for a few minutes and then drive it). It may run funky for a bit, as it re-adapts.
