I purchased a 1985 190e 2.3. as is. the owner said had stalling problem.. They had fuel dist. replaced. The car starts up fine, has a bit of high idle, revs freely.. but as eng warms, starts to stumble stall and seems to run very rich black smoke.. repeated this several time.. Cked vacum lines repair bad grd on engine, has newer plugs wires. ck coolant temp sensor ohmmeter, set pot. meter blackhousing front of fuelhousing, had 4 bolts., to spec found in Mitchell manual. unplug eha.. no changes. The problem is very consistant. always runs fine, the within a few min. just as rad hose gets warm. starts black smoke stumbling. until hardly runs. Any help would be very much appreciated. thank you. Also last nite removed fuel assembly. plate move freely.. found small allen adj screw turned all the way in, adjuster for same was stripped. backed off ,adj counter clockwise, with a allen wrench have not tried to start yet. Okay got it started today ran ten min no black smoke or stumbling.. But I am getting alot of white smaoke. which I saw before, but was very cold here that day all cars were like that, Alot of white smoke..and pungent order. thinking headgasket have to get a compression tester. Any comments would be appreciated, thank you
