w210 96-02 - Front windshield rubber seal
FYI
Some of us, particularly in sunny States where the car is parked outside, witness deterioration in the rubber seal, at the bottom front (external) of the windshield. The rubber dries out and that start braking, loosing small pieces at a time.
I went through this issue this morning at the dealer’s and here are the results (for an ’01 model):
These are 2 plastic covers from each side of the wiper and they differ (left/right):
- Screen – P# 210-831-10-58 $20.35
- Screen, Air - P# 210-831-09-58 $20.35
Total $40.70 + Tax
I watched the tech doing it and NOW(!) I know it’s DIY duable, just a few screws. Gain from my experience as I paid $60 labor for that replacement.
The new “screens” look great, giving the car a brand new look.
