I drive a 1989 300 E
1989 300 E won't start up at all
Hope some one can help me. Car has 240,000 miles. New battery, new fuel pump, new water pump, new timing chain. Car cranks but will not start. Mechanic repaced items as noted above - we drove the car home - about 4 miles - parked it in the driveway and haven't been able to get it started since. Called mechanic and he suggested that I put it in Park and try to start it - this didn't work. He had no more ideas on what could be wrong. Neither do we... Prior to taking it to the mechanic, the car had started stalling as we were driving. We would pull off, wait awhile and it would then start up. This happened three or four times.

1988 300E
my 88 300E had a problem with the idle solenoid. whenever I would slow up, it would die on me. Yours is happening while you're driving? or when you're getting to a turn or something?
