Thumbs down HELP! MY Steering Wheel Column!

The other night, the valet driver messed with my steering wheel, and now it doesnt go back up, it just stays at the lowest position. When I push the handle the motor still makes noise, but I think its stuck. It is an 03 SL 500 Any advice? Thanks!

May need a new column or perhaps a motor assembly. You should be still under warranty with an 03. Dealer is your best bet. Its unlikely that a valet operating it normally would be able to break it, takes a lot of force to do so. Most likely juat failed at that time.

There is a small plastic driveshaft in the column between the screw drive and the motor itself. It is broken in half. Generally this happens if you are using your easy entry/exit feature and use the wheel to help you out of the vehicle while the column is still in motion. If that makes any sense. It takes a few hours to change out.
