Visit Workshop - Battery Symbol in Red

I have a 2005 E320 CDI - 60,000 miles and the the first time the error occured the dealership replaced the voltage regulator. The second time they said I needed a new battery which was replaced. The "visit workshop" with the red battery symbol just occured again today and it seems to happen upon first startup. Any ideas? I just don't want to have to keep going back to the dealership. This will be the third trip on this issue.

If a warning is in red it requires immediate attention. Are all the tsbs done on your E ?? The dealer should be able to pull the exact fault from your computer. Perhaps they did not go deep enough to determine what other faults might be present.

sosh is right on about the red warning- this needs attention- something has failed, one of the batteries, the BCM, the alternator, etc. It may or may not leave a code. Voltage is critical on these cars because of the SBC.

Problem Solved

Turned out to be high resistance at the terminals(cleaned) and also a bad replacement battery. Tech also said they made a mistake by not replacing both batteries at the same time. One bad battery apparently takes down the other.
