1979 450 SL
Oil Change
I am new to this forum and need help. I am a new mercedes owner i purchased a 1979 450 SL . It has 145,000 miles on it and runs great. I bought it from the original owner. I want to change the oil right away. What kind of oil and weight do you reccomend and how much . Don't have a manual yet HELP

I would consult MBUSA and a few dealers to get recomendations for that age of car. None of the oils specified in '79 are sold in the US today. Mercedes has specification sheets that tell you what type of oil is sutitable for your car. They are very specific. Ask them what is on the sheet for your car.
