It's a fantastic program, I went through it. Right out of high school I went to UTI at the Glendale Heights, IL campus. After finishing that in 10 months, I was accepted into the ELITE program at the UTI Rancho Cucamonga, California campus. I finished that program at the top of my class, and was hired right away by a dealer here in the LA area. I here now that there's an ELITE program running at the Illinois campus, so had I waited a little longer I could have just gone there instead of moving across the country. I also hear that there's a brand-new UTI campus somewhere in Pennsylvania, although I don't know where it's at, or if they have an ELITE class there.

Do you think the ELITE or STEP program is better, he is thinking about both.

I'm still new to the MB world but you sure have answered MOST of my questions accurately. Remember the hood strut, you were on the mark - I operated the little tab on the pass. side and the hood popped up all the way. And the windshield washer problem?-- pressed the stalk past the detent and fluid came through. Now for 2002, you HAVE to admit that MB quality has slipped some and something NEDS to be done. If you're ever in Salibury, MD, look me up (use the MB SOS system, whatever it's called!!!). I'll show you the best seafood you've ever experienced.

Al, the STEP program has higher requirements to get into. But from what I hear, the training isn't very thorough. And in the long run, I've heard from several people that Mercedes-Benz is a better company to work for than BMW anyways. By the way, that ELITE facility in Pennsylvania is in Allentown.

Darkmann, next time I'm in Maryland, I'm definitely up for some seafood. You said "Now for 2002, you HAVE to admit that MB quality has slipped some and something NEDS to be done." I know, MB quality has slipped. But don't ask a technician if something needs to be done about the quality of the product he services. I make my money off of broken Benzes. That's what pays my bills. As far as I'm concerned personally, they could make their cars even crappier, and I'd be happier.
