2001 CLK55

DIY Brake Pad Replacement on W208 CLK55

Any one change their own brake pads on a W208 CLK55? Any chance I could get some step by step instructions? Anything to watch out for? Will I need any other parts like wear sensors?

Also - I am thinking of going with the Akebono Ceramic pads for 3 reasons.

1 - Less Brake dust
2 - Easier on Rotors?
3- approx 1/2 cost of stock

Any other suggestions on pads? I only picked this brand because I saw them at Tire Rack..

AMG's

Akebono Ceramics will have less brake dust, but they do squeek occasionally. Only factory pads don't squeek.

You will need brake pad sensors if your brake pad wear indicator is on.

Any chance you can photo and document the process for submission on my site? You may help out a few other owners down the road.

If you can't photoshop the arrows, I can do that for you as long as you make a decent write-up. That is how Sunman and I do it when he does a write-up.
