Radio & AC removal
I wanted to pass on a tip since I have received so many from these threads.
I was reading about radio removal clips and the methods to get the radio and AC controller out of the dash. I did not have the clips and the smallest screwdriver I had was still too thick. I looked around the garage and my desk and saw a small plastic card (thinner that a credit card). I cut a strip of it to fit the slots and it worked for releasing the AC unit. I am sure it would work for the radio too.
BTW, I was trying to gain access to the area 'back there' to route power and antenna wires to an XM radio receiver on the dash (just below the vent area). I ended up sliding the wires along the right side of the wood trim on the dash. Of course this was tight, so I used the same plastic card - folded in half - to clear a path for the wires. I slid the wire just behind the card while feeding it from below (the ash tray/storage area).
The info on these forums is great! Thanks!
