New R-class w/ Sirius but no ESN
Well, just picked up the new R-class, but not off to a good start in the audio department. The sales lady was going through all the info on the car with us in the delivery garage. She hits the SAT button on our car which has the Sirius radio option(well it's on the manufacturers window sticker anyhow), and says that's wierd it doesn't show the ESN. Well she says you have to be outside for that to show up. I don't know anybetter, my kids are going crazy and I just say ok whatever. Well clearly she didn't know what she was talking about cause we still don't have the ESN number showing up. Sounds like from what I gathered by searching the board something isn't installed that should be installed. Anybody know what gives? How long is the trial period for the sirius radio?
I did have the ipod integration kit installed as part of the "deal", so is it possible they goofed something up in the process?

I had the same exact problem - took delivery last week of R350 and no ESN number. Luckily I found somebody at the dealership who knew what was wrong. Easy fix - you have to do a reset of the Command system via going to Service Menu by pressing SERV and then choose the RESET softkey - Choose Yes to restore factory settings and Command will reboot. Now by doing this all your presets for Radio and Navigation will be gone - so you need to write them down before you do this. Now by going to SAT - you should see the ESN number.

The Sirius is free for 6 months - I got a year's worth for $5.80 more - here is how - since I already had a Sirius account, I told them to activate it on my regular account and they said the only way to do that would be if I wanted to sign up for a year - I said sure - now MBUSA assumes you are a new Sirius customer so they pay for 6 months at $12.99 whereas you only pay $6.99 for second receiver on an existing account so when they add the ESN number you only end up paying $5.80 for the whole year. Just an update. The soft reboot thing seems to work until the car is turned off again, then the ESN disappears. So if you do the soft reboot, be ready to call up sirius and have them activate or you may have to do the soft reboot again. Once it's activated it doesn't matter if the ESN shows up anymore.
