ML320 codes.
Mercedes techs,
i have an 01 ML320 with 108k miles, check engine light just came on, after dropping it down to third gear and passing someone on the left. Code reader says:
p0300 - random misfire
p0301 - cylinder 1 misfire
p0304 - cylinder 3 misfire
ive heard that this COULD be the MAF. any help?
Globe Motors in Fairfield, NJ wants $112 just to diagnose.

dude, i don't suggest you start throwing parts at it without getting it diagnosed properly. yes those codes may be due to a faulty maf but it could also be caused by 02 sensors, vacuum leaks, fuel delivery problems, spark plug cables, etc... i guess what i'm trying to say is that there are multiple things that can happen that produce similar problems. $112 really isn't that bad of a diag fee compared to who knows how much you would spend by asking people on this forum what part to throw on your vehicle. i don't mean to sound like a downer, just trying to save you some pennies in the long run. good luck!
