R171 Shift Knob Replacement
Hi, can anyone tell me how to take off the orignal shift knob from the shifter of the slk r171 and it is auto transmission.

yeah pull that silver trim that holds the letaher gaiter in place, try not to pull any wires off with the ignition on, you should then see a plastic bit at the base of the gear knob, twist this 90 degrees clockwise and then pull like hell on the thing shoud come straight off but try not to smack yourself in the head with it, it hurts!
