flashing lights on door locking

For me I was having the exact same problem and I found that I had to reset the system. Basically you have to take the battery back off of the cables for a few mins then hook it back up then put the key in the ignition turn it all the way like your about to start it but dont for like a min then turn it back off and it'll resync.Mine did at least. My neighbor told me this and its been working fine since. was annoying to go through tho. 99 c230
I'be just got this problem on my ML270. Did resyncing fix things permanently? I'm thinking my Alarm Sounder battery may be failing.

Just replaced the Car Battery. Now I have this same problem with the lights flashing. When I press the panic button on the fob, I get a very weak but regular siren tone. (never heard it before in 4 years)
Tried the disconnect and reset idea, but has made no difference.
Just tried using the physical key. Doors lock and lights stay off.
used physical key to unlock, ran motor then tried locking using the fob. Lights flash again.
