tie rod question

I have a 99 ml430 and my vehicle failed state inspection due to the tie rods. I am wondering how difficult it would be for me to replace them (inner and outer tie rods) myself. Are there any special tools that I might need? Any advice would help.

Tie rods not that difficult to replace (with the normal assortment of mechanics tools), but once you've done the work, you'll have to have the alignment done.
