Solution to transmission 'kicking'

My '94 C280 kind of 'kicks' while shifting gears (auto). This is especially the case when the car is not warmed up yet. I thought maybe the fluid needs a flush or something but then I checked and it was changed less than 20,000 km ago. So I bought a fluid called "Ultra Smooth" by Waynn's. On the label it says that it fixes transmission shuddering. It also says that it's suitable for any type of transmission... Is this any good to use or should I return it to the store? I am kind of skeptical on using products that I haven't heard of.

Thanks in advance.

The first shift is later on a cold engine to heat up the catalytic converter faster, are all shifts harsh. That friction modifier will not harm the transmission; if all shifts are harsh use it. The cause can also be a modulator vacuum leak.
