C230 Engine Vibration
I have a 1999 C230 Kompressor with 123,000 miles. When the car is cold and in drive at a stop there is heavy engine vibration. Put the car in reverse and the vibration goes away. After the car is completely warmed (10 miles) up the vibration goes away. At first I thought it was transmission and I changed the fluid, filter,etc. No differnence although the trasmission shifts a bit smoother now, although it has never had any problems in this area. From what I have been reading the problem may be motor and/or transmission mounts. The engine runs very smooth and has been maintained well over it's life.
