E320 1999 Wagon rear window stopped working
I have my MB about six months and today my mother in law opened my rear window and it does not close. When I push the button I hear a sound like something is working, but the window does not close. I was able to pull the window out a little bit and it opened all the way upon the push of a button, but it opened slow and still made some weird sounds. I wonder if the window just slipped of the mechanism or if there is more serious problem. I am in Sacramento, CA and wondered if you know somebody who deals with this kind of stuff or whether it is something I could fix myself. By the way, what is the good repair book for E320?
Thank you
Karel
pics on how to repair. quite basic and straight forward a fix. a horribly weak
point in the 210s.

I found the great DIY website, but it does not explain how to remove the window from the regulator. Also, in my case, it seems that that it is just the wire came off the top of the roller and gets rolled on the motor in different directions. I managed to pull the window about 3/4 up, but I cannot seem to roll it up all the way. The glass is secured to the regulators with some rubber sealant and it seems to hold pretty good. Any ideas? BTW, it is 1999 wagon E320 if I did not mention it earlier.
Thanks
Karel

The (WIRE) is loose because the plastic roller is broken...Its The Window Regulator! Order the regulator and Rivets..dont forget to replace the plastic water liner at the door...
Ive Done LOTS of them...bad design!
