Keyless Go intermittent

2006 R500.

Subject line pretty much says it all. Sometimes you can walk up and door unlocks / keyless GO button work as-advertised, then 20 minutes later (or next day or whatever) it won't work at all. Same story with both key FOB's, sometimes it works, sometimes no. Both FOB batteries check out (pushing lock/unlock at the same time lights up).

Any other suggestions before I call the dealer for help?

Thanks,

Paul

I wonder how the handles can tell you have touched them. Perhaps the shoes you are wearing or how dry your hands are mater? Mine works almost all the time but was acting up. Ocassionally I coundn't get in the drivers door. Now just that door isnt working at all. A new handle is on order under waranty.

Wow, that's interesting. It has been raining like crazy here in Houston, maybe that matters?

The car won't start either using the button, so the entire system doesn't work (intermittent) not just the doors...

Then 5 minutes later you walk up to it and everything is fine. Weird...

Maybe the batteries in the key fob are a little low.

Yep.

I had the same problem. I replaced both batteries in my fob and it's worked flawlessly ever since.

Give it a shot
