2001 E320 4matic
Radio Question

I need a new radio (headunit) for my 2001 E320 4matic w/ cd changer in the trunk. The only issue is I am having a hard time finding a compatible one since becker made so many different ones. I talked to mercedes and they gave a part # on my head unit, 208 820 1086, as well as a replacement, 208 820 1486. I found a unit with the part number 208 820 0186. Does anyone know which one is correct, and also will the 208 820 0186 (becker 3302) be compatible with my car. Any info would be appreciated b/c i have spent days looking with no luck.

your cd changer uses D2b compliant fiber optic connectivity. the head unit must
match this....not the earlier analog (plain jane) electics....and not the one
which supercedes D2b: MOST fiber optic standard.

i dont know part #s but I do know that Audio 30 was the cheapo standard
for your car, as well as Audio 10. then there is the COMMAND system, with
GPS but I have no first hand experience with that. Audio 10 / 30 are popular
names (vs part#), no doubt, of part #s you quoted above.

audio 30

audio 10

Hey, Raymond. Depending on how accurate your coordinates are, I was about 100 feet from your place last week! I drove up to Seattle from San Jose and happened to drive a nephew home from dinner one night. He lives on 24th Place S.

He's a bit of a car nut so I gave him the no-holds barred ride home in the S65. We took the sweeping ramp onto I-5 S from the entrance by Safeco (after the light) at about 100 after drifting into it. My wife and sister-in-law were in the back and not quite as thrilled as he was.

What kind of name is "Cheasty" anyway?

Did you find a radio/control head for your car? Are you looking for new or used? I believe the Audio 30 is MB number 208.820.10.86.
