rear wheels seem a bit offset (copy from e class forum)
first time washing my car 99 e430, i noticed that the rear wheels are not perfect centered in the rear wheel well. its a bit offset towards the front. is this normal? has anyone else noticed this also.
i recently swapped off some larger rims (99 sl 600 rims), and replaced them with the old e430 rims, this possibly can't have anything to do with it can it? thanks

Well, I'll bet that when the rear suspension compresses (full load or on a bump) the suspension design is such that the wheel moves rearward in its housing. That's certainly the case with my old Peugeot 405, which has pure trailing arms. Unladen, the rear wheels are towards the front of the well and with a load they're centre-rear.
Unless you've had an extremely serious rear-ender with that car I doubt that there's any problem. Get two heavy guys to stand up in the trunk, handbrake off and bounce up and down while you look at the wheel form the side. I'm almost sure that's it.

Relax, this just normal.
It's not quite right for MB, what the Peugeot driver says, since the suspension systems are completely different.
