96 C280 gauges not working
96 C280 This problem is driving me crazy. About 80 to 90 % of the time the instument gages won't work. When the key is turned to run and before start the Temp Gauge will vibrate, then go to start, now no water temp, no speed, no RPM, no fuel reading. If I turn key to off, wait a minute and Water Temp needle stops vibrating. Then turn key to run and no vibrate on temp needle then on to start, now gauages work fine till next start. We have replaced the Water Temp sending unit, and the key switch, it's still doing it.

BMW E30. I've turned to the dark side.
not at all uncommon to see bad instrument clusters in the 94-96ish c-classes. but dont go and buy one off e-bay. usually a well placed tap on the top of the instrument panel makes them work for a while. see a dealer near you for an accurate assesment.
