Compressor ?

Can anyone explain if the unit in the Trunk mounted in foam rubber is the Compressor as well as the valve system for the Pnuematic system on the car or if there is another compressor someplace.. My dynamic seats dont inflate and I am trying to determine the source of the compressed air..
The unit in the trunk has 9 plastic air lines going to it and if I unplug this unit the central locking ,close assist etc. all quit working..

There is a separate pump (compressor). There are also lots of things to go wrong. When mine failed a check valve was bad, which caused a hose to collapse and the pump to work overtime and fail. So if you have a bad pump, make certain you check the valving and hoses.

I find the pump in the trunk but no other one. I assume the pump works as the central locking and close assist all work.. or am I not thinking right? Where would you look for the other pump?

Look at the first link above. Number 20 is the vacuum pump for the central locking, soft close, etc. It should be the one you found. Number 50 is the pump for the seats. The location is indicated by the arrow. You probably need to remove more of the trunk lining.
