Oil change on C280....help please!!!!
Is is acceptable to get the oil changed at a regular oil change operation......Jiffy Lube etc.??? Or is the dealer recommended?? I need to know, cause the dealer is $90 for the syn. mobile one oil.....I can go to a regular oil change that uses valvoline Synthetic for about $50. What do you all do???????

I (and a lot of other MB owners) do my own oil changes. The only advice I'd have would be to use an OEM quality filter (Hengst, Mann), and make sure that they don't overfill the oil. Other than that, pretty much anyone can do it. The difficulty I found with quick oil change places that drove me to do my own changes was that a lot of places don't have the MB oil filter cap socket tool. But you can buy that for less than $20.

Does your car still have a warranty?
If so by not using a main dealer you will most likely make it void.
If not make sure you use an original Hengst filter. A filter socket tool is only £4 (in England anyway) from the Dealer.
Personally I would stick to using Mobil 1, but that’s my opinion and I’m sure a few other owners would disagree.
