Alarm problem

When I lock my 2003 SL with the keyfob button, which sets the alarm, depending on where I park the alarm will go off. I find when I park in shopping areas that have buildings with alarm systems I have to just use the key to manually lock the car, since these alarm systems seem to trigger my alarm. If say I park in my driveway it doesn't have this problem. Have others had this problem and is there a cure? The dealer says that its the alarm systems around these building that could be the cause of course it did not do it at the dealership. If there is away to correct I would like to know it so I could educate my dealer.

Thanks

Could this be caused if the ADS system loses pressure after the car sits for awhile causing the car to shift and activate the alarm??? Just a long shot. It seems to be more related to parking near buildings with alarm systems and when the building alarm system cycles my alarm goes off. Has anyone else had a problem with there alarm going off for no reason. If so what did you find was the cause. This is a 2003 SL500
Thanks

I just locked my car setting the alarm while in my garage. After sitting for 6 hours it went off. At the Gym if I lock it setting the alarm it will go off in a matter of minutes, same at a shopping mall. OK Tech experts what might be causing this problem?

SDS diagnostic tool question

I have a Alarm problem on my 2003 SL500. If I set the alarm/lock the car with the remote it will go off within minutes 5-10 minutes if by a shopping area or if in my garage where I have no alarm system it will go off on its own after a couple of hours. I have an appt. with the dealership this Friday to fix it but I would like to give them some direction in finding the problem. From reading several posts, is it true that the Tech can use the SDS diagnostic tool to read which sensor caused the alarm to go off? The reason I want to know is that I don't want the dealer to give me the run around stating that they could not find a problem. Also will the SDS, show several of the last recorded alarm codes incase it is more then one sensor problem? Also if any of you have a clue to what is causing this problem please let me know. I'm getting tire of having to manually lock my SL with the little metal key.

Thanks

Dealer had it all day Friday and the alarm went off a couple of times and the service advisor says they could not get a sensor reading from the SDS. That is either BS or what could the problem be. I take it back Monday for them to try again.

Dealer ID the sensor problem with the sensor that controls one that if someone was trying to tow your car away and steal it. It would go off when the car ADS would settle. It would do it quicker on unlevel ground then on level ground.

Well picked up my car after 4 days at the dealer. They said the alarm was fixed. Stop at the store on the way home, push the door lock on the key setting the alarm and walk away. get about 50 feet away and the alarm goes off. Got home parked in my level garage and set the alarm, went off in a couple of minutes. Guess they did not fix it. Anyone here have any insight into why the dealer can't just hook up the SDS tool and tell what is wrong. Better yet does anyone know what is causing this to happen and what the fix is???

Dealer figured it out. Replaced another sensor and controller, fixed the problem. Works fine now.

The internal battery in your alarm siren is probably going bad. You will likely need a new alarm siren. Common on your vehicle.

His wifes head hard into the headboard nightly!!
you would think there would be a silencer for the alarm..or an def. answer on this topic with all the owners? where the siren? i would rather cut the wire than car keyed for alarm going off.
