Trunk Close assist
Has anyone had this problem or knows anything about this please? My trunk close assist doesn't work all the time. Sometimes it closes all the way, and you can see the trunk pulled shut, and other times it just doesn't shut at all, and I'm forced to drive with the malfunction chime going off telling me my trunk isnt shut the whole way home. And when I get home, and try it again, it pulls shut. What gives?? Please help!

Trunk doesn't close
I just got my ML350 last week. The trunk close assist seems to work from time to time but like the other post, it would fail to close all the way or close and then open back up.
I brought the car in for service they reset the trunk and it seems to work a few times and then fail again.
Does anyone have solution to this problem?

There is usually a air leak in the diaphram of the close assist in the boot lock. Basicly it only leaks enough for the pump to shut down to self protect itself, close assist will work until the pump shuts down. The part has been modified since your car was built.
Replace the boot lock.

you are still in factory warranty by years ,it seems to me that you should take it to the dealer ,unless it has over 50k ,it could be a latch assymbly or the pse has a leak ,it just might need an adjustment ,
