clk 430 check engine wont shift need help with code

randomly driving my car it stopped shifting at a stop light then the check engine light came on. I cannot shift it manually. the snap on machine said
"INPUT TURBINE SPEED SENSOR......A CIRCUIT."


can someone please help me with this. just need to know what to do that doesnt involve the dealer...

190D 2.5 (x2), 190E 2.6, W202 C240,W202 C43 (C55), W210 E55, W212 E250CDI
Check the transmission oil level. If it's ok then you will need to replace the valvebody electrical plate. If the oil level is low then top it up and see if the fault reoccurs before further repairs

checking tranny level

is it possible to check the tranny level on a 2000 without having a special tool...
