Airmatic compressor

Is replacement of this part a do-it-yourself job? If so -- HOW? My compressor appears to be totally blown.

DIY depends always a lot on the DIY experience one has but this one does not look too complicated. You just have to be able to access the car from below. Remove the front right engine compartment panel and start there.

Make sure you have the instructions though.

Are you sure you know why the pump blew? It's often because the strut seals have failed. If you don't replace them your new pump won't last very long.

I am still diagnosing the problem, but I do plan to use the repair kit on the struts. I just need instructions on how to change the pump in case it is actually blown.

Why not buy WIS for your car, I assume it is available from MBUSA pretty cheap.

BMW E30. I've turned to the dark side.
whatever you decide to do, make sure the airmatic relay is replaced as well or say bye-bye to your new pump.
