Hard Jerking of Transmission 2007 E320 Bluetec

Hi,

Just bought a dealer demo 2007 MB E320 Bluetec 1 month ago. P1 package. Total miles now is 9400. I have been experiencing severe jerking of the car for first 10 minutes of driving. It occurs when I let the car cruise slowly up to a red light/stop sign. Happens when I leave work from the parking lot slowing down and stopping before turning into traffic.
Feels like the transmission shifting hard. It jerks pretty hard a few times before the car does a complete stop. I live in the Northwest so don't know if cold temperature is involved. I keep the car in sport mode at all times. Doesn't jerk when arrive at work after 15 minutes when I park. Please help.

Take it to the dealer. What do you think we are going to be able to tell you over an internet forum that a technician w/ all the tools necessary to fix the problem wont have?

I'm sure they will figure it out... most likely a valve body or software issue... or as simple as there is leak causing the fluid level to be low.

My 07 bluetec has 5,000 mi on it and I do

experience abrupt transmission gear changes, at very low speeds, mostly when slowing. It completely disappears when engine & tranny temp are fully warmed up. about 15 min of driving.

Dealer indicated transmission was up to date with software and this was quite normal. seems a bit un-MB like to me.

keep pushing them, this is a problem and it can be fixed. The seven speed is very tempermental to adapt and MB doesn't pay very the techs very well to do it. Push your dealer for a new valve body, and a proper adaptation.

Have The Dealer Check Your B1 And B3 Adaptations. If They Are Between +/- 15-20 For The Fill Times, Then You Have A Snap Ring That Has Come Out In One Or Both Of Those Shift Members. If Thats Not The Case, There Is A Bulletin For The Correct Valve Body For All Cars With 722.9 Transmissions. Have Them Cross Reference That Bulletin With Your Engine And Trans To Be Sure You Have The Right Valve Body Installed.

Yep, sounds like a snap ring to me. Actual values should show a + or - 20 for the 2-1 downshift. If that is the case though, they should have caught it the first time you went in.
