my check engine light came on saturday morning.
i dropped the car off at the dealer. they'll call me on monday to let me know what happened. hopefully nothing serious.
service advisor said i can keep driving the car without problem, but i insisted on leaving my car there till a tech can check it out.
he suggested that it's probably something to do with emission, so i would probably not pass smog.
the only odd thing i noticed was on thursday morning when i started the car, i heard this really faint high pitch sound coming from under the hood. the sound went away once i got to work
(27miles). not sure if this had anything to do with the check engine light coming on sat. morning.
my car currently has 3400 miles on it.
i guess the check engine light can come on for number of different reasons.
can i get some feedback from people that had their check engine light come on and what the dealer found.

Just spoke to my service adviser,
he said the air pump is bad and they are ordering a new one.
parts should arrive this afternoon.
