Hi-

I dropped the car at mercedes service the techs can not figure why when filling gas the pump will just click off and on.It takes almost 20 minutes just to fill up the car. Any input will be great!!!

This my wife's car and she is going mad over this issue...

Have you tried inserting the nozzle in to different depths? I have found that sometimes I have to pull the nozzle part way back out when it keeps shutting off.

Thanks for the reply. we tried everything and the service techs even tried. They thought it was the fuel pump and put a new one in today but same problem. They said the never seen this before..

There is a flap in the bottom of the fuel filler pipe to stop fuel coming back up the filler neck when cornering.

The filler neck rubber hose needs to be removed and the flap checked for ease of movement. if itīs stuck then you need a new fuel tank (i wouldnīt suggest removing it, but itīs upto you)

Thanks for the response. Yeah that is what they are doing ordering a new fuel tank hopefully the part arrives tommorrow. Thanks for the info.
