My CLK is having some problems

Ok I I have a W209 2003 clk 320. It has 125,000 miles on it and I got some problems I need to fix.

1. My amplifier is on the fritz. It needs to be changed. Dealer wants $ 1,000. I took it to best buy, they want $850. Apparently they need a million things to make it compatible with my car. Also, my battery is being drained because of it. Me and my dad have theorized that it is the amp sucking from the battery becuse it stays on even when the car is off. I know the amp is plug and play, you think if I buy one I can do it myself? Also, if I dont drive my car for more than 2 days it dies because they battery gets drained.

2. The driver side seat and steering wheel don't move anymore. Thank God they got stuck in positions that I drive in. Dealer wants 1,000 each to get fixed. They said it was some gearbox in each one. However when I took it in for service and they reset the car they both worked for 2 weeks then stopped again. So I have a hard time thinking its the gear box and not something electrical.

Well I guess I was asking your opinions on if you think I should do them and if I can get it cheaper. Any opinions?

Don't know about the W209 but seat control units have had a lot of battery drain issues. Have you tried unplugging the fuse for seat control?

The fibre based amps aren't straightforward to replace, specifically if you have Sound system in the car.
