300TE 4-Matic valve needed
I noticed a small hydraulic fluid leak on the garage floor under my 91' 300TE 4-matic wagon recently.
It appeared to be coming from the "test" valve on the passenger side fender wall in the engine room. I took it to the dealer. They confirmed my diagnosis -- said the fittings were tight on the valveand recommended replacement of the valve. Estimated cost $500. Ouch!
Any ideas? For example, if it is the fittings, is there anything I can put on the threads to see if it stops? Or, does anyone know of an affordable parts sources for such a valve? The part number is 1243500857.
